And we can practically guarantee that this is the ONLY true Z28 you will see in 2010 thats received a complete frameup restoration and priced under 65K. Heck we sold a clone in December 2009 for 46K!Built the fourth week of February 1969 this Z28 came configured as follows 111 compression 302 engine rated at 290 horsepower Muncie M21 close ratio 4 speed transmission with Hurst Shifter power disc brakes cowl induction hood factory AM radio factory tachometer quick ratio steering 15x7 wheels with trim rings special suspension and a 12 bolt positraction axle with 3.73 gear set. In short this was one serious muscle car. Lets break down the numbers on this special Z28. The original never tampered with cowl tag breaks down as follows TR 715Blue standard interior trim50Dover White 50Dover White no vinyl top02Dcar built February 4th weekX77Z28 packageNow that we know how this car was built by the factory lets check out the drive train. The engine pad reads V0210DZ which translates to Flint February 1st week 302 CI. The casting number is 3956618 dated February 7 1969 both of which are correct. The intake manifold casting number is 3932472 which equates to 302 Z28. Also present in the Winters Foundry \"snow flake\" casting mark. The correct carb part number 3923289 DZ is in place and the VIN is in place above the oil filter. This Z28 also has the correct driver side rear exhaust hanger plate welded to the frame rail factory. Also present is the correct rear brake line regulator valve on the front frame rail drivers side. Last but not least the correct brake master cylinder is present. The transmission is original to the car with the cars VIN stamped in the body. The transmission case casting is 3925661 which is a Muncie 4speed. The transmission tail housing casting is 3857584 which equals 6670 wpassenger side speedometer cable. The transmission side cover casting is 3952648. The rear axle code is BU 0224 G2 which equates to 3.73 12 bolt positraction February 24 Detroit Gear Axle 2nd Shift. Its safe to say this is the original axle for the car. Aside from the longtube headers instead of the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds theres nothing else you could ask for numberswise. This Z28 was treated to a groundup restoration in 2006 and has been driven sparingly since. The body and paint on this Z28 are absolutely beautiful and show quality. Finished in the correct Dover White the paint shines deeply and is free from any visual defects. The bright work and stainless steel trim is also top notch most of it original. All exterior chrome was refinished during the restoration process. All of the original Soft Ray tinted glass is present except for the windshield which is an OEM replacement. A white car should have black stripes but the blue ones on this car compliment the interior perfectly and are applied rightyou cant fault a little personalization! If it bothers you we can repaint them black!The engine compartment featuring the original DZ 302 engine is very nicely detailed. New wiring harnesses were used throughout the car. The cowl induction setup works like new feeding the original air cleaner and engine. Correct parts are everywhere from the finned valve covers to the deep groove alternator pulley the Wittek hose clamps and GM hoses to the spring clamp cables on the battery. Date coded spark plug wires feed a fresh set of plugsthe cars ready to go!The front suspension including the correct fastratio pitman arm was completely rebuilt using correct new parts. The Muncie 4 speed transmission was also rebuilt as part of the restoration process. A new fuel tank sending unit and fuel lines were installed and the disc brake setup was rebuilt as well. The mandrel bent 2.5\" exhaust system features Flowmaster mufflers for an aggressive tone that youd expect from a car like this!How does it run? Like a prison break. Those long tube headers and Flowmaster exhaust system make it sound absolutely killer. The idle sounds predatory and wicking the throttle shows you why these 302s are such impressive performersit revs effortlessly and screams towards redline with real aggression. If youre used to big block motors you might need to adjust your driving style to suit the racebred small blocks power curve. I guarantee that once you do youll never go back to lugging around just off idle. Nothingand I mean nothingsounds like a small block V8 wailing at 7000 RPM. If you dont like it please turn in your man card at the front desk on your way out of the building.The blue vinyl bucket seat interior in this Z28 is absolutely stunning and highly original. Present is an original steering wheel with its rosewood center cap the original console original Rally gauges and original instrument panel. A host of restored pieces such as the seats keep company with reproduction door panels sill plates carpeting headliner carpet underlayment package tray kick panels and door hardwareall OEM replacement items. Theres a modern Custom Autosound digital tuning cassette deck in the dash for clean sound without cutting. Its a pleasant place to go through the gears!From the straight outside to the clean inside undercarriage and engine compartment the cars a show winner.
